Wedding Season Has Arrived!
Wedding bells seem to be ringing all over the fashion world lately — first for Leandra Medine, and now for Margherita Missoni.
Leandra Medine walked down the aisle on Friday June 15, to her still nameless man (to her fans). The celebrations were held at the St. Regis Hotel, and a gorgeous Marchesa dress was worn- adorned of course with funky accessories that are true to the Man Reppeller’s style. The Marchesa dress was traditional, but Leandre made it her own with a white leather Lyndsey Butler vest, a custom Rebecca Minkoff motorcycle jacket, an “arm party” full of bracelets by Dannijo, and bedazzled flatforms adorned with the initials “L.M.” and “A.C.” Of course, instead of a veil, the blogger rocked a flower crown. The whole look was very “fairytale princess arrives at a rock show.”
Margherita Missoni got married this past weekend, on Saturday June 23, to her fiance Eugenio Amos, an Italian race car driver. The ceremony was held at the church of Santa Maria Annunciata, in Brunello, about a half hour outside Milan. The reception took place at a farm in Brunello, with a gypsy band, acrobats, and a fortune teller. And rather than relying on her talented family of designers to design her wedding dress, she turned to her friend, Giambattista Valli. Together they created a beautiful long sleeved gown which was made with Missoni silk and organza, and embellished with embroideries and flower applications. Stylish It-girls Tatiana Santo Domingo and Eugenie Niarchos served as bridesmaids, alongside Margherita’s sister Teresa. In true gypsy spirit they did not wear matching dresses, but instead wore an array of dresses and skirts in pretty floral prints with headdresses made out of fresh flowers that matched Margherita’s colorful bouquet.
