Project Runway Season 10 Finale at NYFW

In honor of Project Runway’s Season 10 winner, I have selected my favorite pictures from Nina Garcia’s official blog! Photographer Xavi Menos really captured the details and highlights of Spring 2013.

This New York Fashion Week take note of the make up and look! From Alexander Wang’s cut-outs and knee high gladiators to DVF’s fabulous heels! Each picture seems to capture the essence of the designer and what they brought to the runway!

Project Runway sent the remaining eight designers collection’s down the runway as a decoy for the contests’ public on September 7th all part of filming for their Season 10 finale during New York Fashion Week.

Fans waited for a glimpse outside of Lincoln Center but a lot went into keeping the winner well under wraps till it airs on October 18th on Lifetime. Jennifer Hudson was the guest judge on the 10th Anniversary season during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City.

I think they should post little clips of the event as a teaser for the October 18th finale.  It would be nice to watch exclusive clips on their site, in real time so that the audience gets a behind the scenes look on the fashion and television industry collaborating!

But reality shows aren’t live and it’s funny how everything connects. The fashion, music and television industries all  plan ahead along side publication houses to make whats currently happening, and that’s what I cover. The now.

It’s the secrecy of television for the sake of delayed entertainment that keeps them withholding the winner. Even magazines with advertisements and lead-time, can only really report soft news.

I hope to one day enjoy New York Fashion Week and be part of an amazing production that benefits models, designers and gives opportunity to launch rising talent like the all star cast along side Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Tim Gunn.

Getting to know Stephanie Winston Wolkoff

As New York Fashion Week comes to a end, you are looking at one of the faces that made it so successful. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is one of the most influential figures in the American fashion industry. In November 2009, Wolkoff became the founding director of Fashion at Lincoln Center, and is overseeing the relocation of New York City’s biannual Mercedes. Her responsibilities include acting as a liaison between Lincoln Center and the fashion industry. In addition, she coordinates an ambitious year-round schedule of fashion-related programming at Lincoln Center.

Before the granddaughter of Harry Winston was Lincoln’s Centre’s New York Fashion Week Director, Wolkoff served as Events Director for the Conde Nast giant, Vogue. Over the course of eleven years, Wolkoff was mentored by Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour in overseeing and producing major events for Vogue, Men’s Vogue, and Vogue Living. Allowing Wolkoff to upkeep her little black book of the international fashion industry’s most renowned designers, such as Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, and Vera Wang – all whom she sees during this magical week devoted to Fashion.

Know your faces and know your places because New York City is small, but the Fashion world is even smaller.
